Six Senses Douro Valley is a splendid romantic escape, located in the beautiful Douro Valley. The upscale hillside resort is a renovated 19th-century manor house with a lovely selection of minimalistic rooms, villas, apartments and suites, as well as a wine library, an outdoor infinity pool, and an organic garden.

Featured in the Condé Nast Traveler Gold List 2017 and Condé Nast Traveler’s 2016 Hot List, this hotel is set high on a hill, overlooking lush, vine-covered hills and the Douro river. The rooms and suites feature a spacious sitting and living area with gorgeous views of the river, pebbled terrace, vineyards and courtyards. With contemporary interiors, and a footprint of 430–500 square feet (40–46 square meters), each comes fully equipped with flat-screen TVs, tea and coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. An exquisite private pool and garden are on offer with the stunning private villa.

The hotel has a range of restaurants and lounges that cater to both a quick meal and a lavish regional dinner. At The Vale De Abraão restaurant, guests can savour delicious regional dishes that vary seasonally, while at the historic Dining Room, guests can enjoy local ingredients and seasonings that celebrate market produce from the verdant Douro Valley and surrounding countryside. The Terrace offers a beautiful ambience, with tables set against a stone courtyard, surrounding a water fountain that overlooks the vineyards. For a pre-dining rendezvous, The Wine Library & Terrace is the perfect stop, serving up appetizing tapas and a range of wines in an eclectic, local ambience.
