Meet the multi-talented animator, director and illustrator, Eugene Merril "Gene" Deitch, who has lived in Prague since 1959. He worked at the California animation studio, United Productions of America, and rose to become Creative Director at Terrytoons. He is well known for his work on the Tom & Jerry series, Popeye, and his popular characters include Tom Terrific, Sidney the Elephant, Clint Clobber, Gaston Le Crayon, and John Doormat.
